Youngsters are being encouraged to give rugby league a try as a club opens its doors for a special open day.
Cramlington Rockets rugby league side is taking part in a national initiative by the Rugby Football League to try the sport.
The club is holding an open day for all ages on Saturday, April 12, from 10am to noon at the Cramlington Learning Village, Dudley Lane.
With teams from the age of eight to adults, the club is looking for new players, volunteers and corporate partners.
A range of activities are planned for the day including coaching, game of touch rugby, face painting, bouncy castle, tombola, stall selling Cramlington Rockets kit, information on joining the club, and more.
Chairman Jeff Ball said: “We already have over 120 players, which has grown hugely since we started up here in 2009 with only 40, but we want even more people to come and try rugby league, which is the fastest growing sport in the country.”
