More than 20 new riders took to the saddle to join existing cyclists in a Sky Go Ride session at Northumbria Vikings’ new Cramlington circuit.

The track held up well under the watchful eye of head coach Richie Smith as all the youngsters were put through their paces with bike skills and techniques before a series of races in different age categories finished off a successful two hour session.

Many of the Vikings seniors turned up to lend support to the under-16s.

Lewis Petre took the honours in the unde-10 event just ahead of Oliver Smith while Lee Redshaw claimed maximum points to win the under-12 category.

There was also maximum points for Jordan Hart in the under-16 category while Jack Watson win the Open category, which saw Scott Latimer survive a crash when he ran into the pits.
