TWO members of Blyth Lifeguard and Swimming Club have been representing Great Britain in Jönköping in Sweden.
James Purvis and Aidan McGuire, both 17, were chosen due to their results at the National Still Waters competition and Surf Ranking competition.
It is the second time Purvis was been selected to represent GB at the competition and he backed up the coach’s faith by winning gold in the 50m Manikin Carry, beating off competition from Italy and Germany.
It was McGuire’s first time appearing for his country and he came tenth in the 50m Manikin Carry.
A club spokesperson said: “This is such an honour for our club. Well done to both boys.”
