EIGHT riders are celebrating after helping their centre take team gold in a competition.
The eight were representing the Morpeth Group of the Riding for the Disabled Association in a qualifying event for the RDA National Championships.
Four of the riders – who train at The Pegasus Centre in Tranwell – also qualified for the national championships in Gloucestershire in July.
Michael Benson, Ryan Gillespie, Caitlin McHale and Stefan Storey qualified in the ‘Countryside Challenge’ classes.
Chloe Wyatt, Stefan Storey and Caitlin McHale won their dressage whilst Elizabeth Cockburn, Libby Sanderson and Jess Scott were placed.
In addition Jess Scott, Michael Benson and Caitlin McHale demonstrated their knowledge by winning horse care knowledge classes, and art work submitted by riders from Dales School in Blyth won the junior art competition.
“Our riders have been magnificent”, said centre manager Martin Peagam.
“We knew that the riders had been working hard, but even we were not expecting this level of success. We are very proud of all of them.”
