Juniors honoured at fishing club’s annual awards

HIRST Park Trout Ticklers held their annual presentation night at the White House in Ashington.

Junior members were awarded certificates and trophies by guest speaker Lucy Bowden, of Alnwick-based Fishing for Everyone.

Club champion title was awarded to Kacey O’Grady.

Others trophies awarded were: Northumbrian Water for best fly fishing junior, Mark Durance; Thornton Stewart (Felling fly fishers) Alfie Comber; Year 5 champion, Jason McCallum; Year 6 champion, Jade Dixey; Year 7 champion, Harley Dixey; Year 8 champion, Alfie Comber; First school champion, Lewis Robertson; High school champion Kacey O’Grady; Fly tying competition winner, Kacey O’Grady; Most consistent fly tying champion, Alfie Comber; River fishing achievement, Jamie Taylor; Rebecca Sawyer Shield (heaviest fish) Lewis Robertson.
