Blyth Running Club’s Juniors recently completed in their third fixture in the North East Youth Development League, coming home with a second position.
Competing as a combined team with Alnwick, they got off to a great start as Cameron Moore won the U15 boys high jump with a personal best.
There were victories for Rebecca Barton in the shot, while Josh Fiddaman, Taylor Glover and James Young all won their respective 1500m races, with Young doing the double as he won the 800m as well.
Alice Dungworth ran her first 300m race of the season and was rewarded with first place and a league record.
On Saturday, July 12, Blyth Running Club are organising some junior races for children under the age of 15.
The races will all be held on Blyth Beach and the first race will be at 10.15am and the categories will be: Under 6s (200m), U9s (400m), U11s (800m), U13s (1200m), U15s (one mile).
There will be separate races for both boys and girls in each category, with trophies for the first placed runners in each race while all runners will receive a medal.
All ages will be as on the day of the races. There will be a charge of £2 to enter.
