Medal success for Seghill judo

A total of 22 students from Battlehill and Seghill judo clubs attended the British Judo Council’s graded competition at Benfield Sports Centre, returning home with a host of medals.

Youngsters at Battle Hill Judo Club came home with 14 medals and two runner up medals while Seghill Judo Club brought home five medals and two runner up spots.

There was gold medal success for Battlehill’s Charlie Hutton, Jenni Francis, Joseph Carroll, Joseph Robertson, Kieron Hardaker, John Stone, Sean Young, and Liam Banks.

Silver medals were picked up by Joe Flaherty, Kieran Tweedy and Kyle Flannery while there were bronze medals for Glenn Edgar, Shaylin Burn and Ellie Hutton.

There were runners up prizes for Kieran Jackson and Owen Hardaker.

For Seghill Judo Club, there were silver medals for Maddox Fuller, Abbie Johnson and Chris Sayers.

Callum Milner and his dad Kev Milner each picked up a bronze medal while Jackson Ord and Josh Sayers earned runners up prizes.
