Netball trophy is shared between two schools

Eight teams from across south east Northumberland competed in the annual Under 13 netball tournament at Bede Academy North.

Enduring monsoon-like conditions, the girls carried on magnificently despite getting soaking wet.

At the end of the round robin competition, Chantry and Whytrig middle schools were equal on points, having won all their games. The exception was the game they played against each other, when they drew. In the spirit of fair play, the staff and girls decided to share the trophy rather than giving it to the team who had the most goals.

The other teams who competed were Bede Academy, Meadowdale Academy, Seaton Sluice Middle, Blyth School Community College, Cramlington Learning Village and Newminster Middle.
