Newsham Primary School won the Blyth and Bedlington School Sport Programme U11 girls’ netball tournament.

The competition took place at Blyth Sport Centre, with ten teams and almost 100 girls participating in England Netball’s High 5 version of the game.

Due to the number of teams they were divided in to two sections, with all teams in each section playing each other.

The winners and runners-up went through to other in semi- finals.

Newsham played Horton Grange in one semi-final, with Stead Lane and Meadowdale Academy playing in the other.

Both produced competitive matches with Newsham and Stead Lane come out on top.

The final was close and at the end of normal play the score was 1-1. This meant that the next goal to be scored would be the winner.

Newsham scored that golden goal to win the competition.

Other competitors taking part were Croftway, Morpeth Road, Station, Cambois, Malvins Close and New Delaval.
