A young Cramlington girl is taking the golfing world by storm.
Eight-year-old Burnside Primary School Rachel Gourley pupil took part in the US Kids European Championship in Scotland.
The championship featured more than 550 players from 50 countries from around the world, divided into age categories and was held over four days.
Rachel played her practice rounds, which were completed in blustery conditions, with players from the Mexican team and she particularly enjoyed meeting the international girls.
She managed to progress through to the third round but she was eventually beaten by South African Kiera Floyd, with just one point between them.
Although disappointed to come so close to the win, Rachel was pleased with her overall result, which improved on her fourth place finish the previous year.
Rachel is continuing her practice and is competing in UK events throughout June.
In July she travels to the United States on a three-week trip, during which she will compete in the San Diego Junior Masters, the World Junior Championship in California and finally the International Junior Masters in Nevada.
