THE Blyth and District Pool League held their Singles Knock-out finals at the Masons Arms with Ian Rice, pictured, of the High Street A coming out on top.
The first semi-final saw Percy Arms’ Darren Gurney beating Ian Turner of the Masons A 4-0.
Gurney took advantage of virtually every opportunity that came his way to go through to the final.
Rice then booked his place in the second semi-final as he potted quickly and effortlessly on his way to a 4-1 win over Stephen Kidd of the Eagle.
The final was also an attacking game with only a few defensive shots all night.
Rice won the final 4-0 with some amazing potting and positional play.
Gurney also played well but could not out-gun his opponent, but was very gracious in defeat.
The assocation thanked Keith Hall for refereeing the first semi, and Mark Walker of the Masons Arms and his staff for food and well prepared table.
The BDPL is holding its AGM at the Masons Arms in Blyth at 7.30pm on July 10.
Any new teams are welcome, when no monies are needed at the meeting.
New teams from Blyth, Cramlington, Cambois, Bedlington, Dudley and Seaton Delaval are welcome to attend.
