BLYTH Running Club are hosting the ‘Spirit of the Staithes’ 10km run on Sunday, April 3.
The race will start at Blyth Quayside at 10am with all finishers receiving a T-shirt.
Walkers and cyclists using the beach path should be aware that the runners will be using the path from about 10.10am but hopefully they will not be too inconvenienced.
Runners can still enter; entry forms and further details are available at Blyth Sports Centre or online at www.blythrunningclub.co.uk
Entry costs £8 for club runners while those unattached pay £10.
There were nearly 400 finishers last year and entries so far indicate that figure may well be surpassed.
Entries on the day will be taken at the Quay Public House until ten minutes before the start, although the entries will be £10 and £12.
Blyth Running Club are currently holding some indoor mini athletic sessions every Wednesday at 5pm at Blyth Sports Centre for young athletes.
Anybody wishing to register or wanting more information should call (01670) 362668.
The club is also looking to recruit new members to its Junior Section.
Anyone aged between nine and 17 should turn up at Blyth Sports Centre on Monday nights at 6.45pm with their parents or they can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
A new running group for complete beginners is starting up at Blyth Sports Centre, led by Alison Lowes.
Everyone is welcome to join up, whatever their age, size or ability.
