Youngsters from the Seghill Judo Club took part in a competition at the Parks Leisure Centre in North Shields where they came away with two silver medals, two bronze and two runners-up positions.

Saffron Gadema won silver, James Lowden bronze and Yussef Gadema and Josh Sayers were runners-up.

But the star of the day was Euan Gray, who won silver in his first ever competition.

This was the first competition since the club was taken on by new coach Kristopher Anderson after the retirement of former coach Kev Corden.

The club said Kev will be greatly missed.
