THE finals of the Northumberland CIU Individual darts competition produced some high quality darts at Bedlington Station WMC on Saturday.
And it was Steve Wanless and Arthur Dobey who took centre stage as they won through to the final.
Dobey, representing Netherton Social Club, took the spoils in the first round against Dave Porrit (North Seaton Terrace WMC) by three legs to two.
He followed this up with a 3-1 victory over Keith Wright (Bedlington Station WMC) before making his way to the final with a 4-0 success against Richard Storey (Lemington SC) in the last four.
In the other half of the draw, Wanless was making the headlines for the right reasons with some excellent displays in beating three representatives from Bedlington Station.
After a 3-1 opening win against Glen Scott, he repeated the scoreline in defeating Robbie Parker and then completed the hat-trick by seeing off Graeme Stoddary 4-1 in the semi-final.
In the final it was Wanless who prevailed as he overcome Dobey 4-1.
The trophy and prizes were presented by branch president Alan Hardy and secretary Dave Richardson.
