A superb all round performance with bat and ball from Rory O’Connor saw Blyth seconds home by eight wickets against Monkseaton thirds.
With the ball he took four wickets for 22 runs from ten overs, then he opened the innings and fell just short of a century when he hit the winning runs and finished 98 not out.
He needed to hit a six to reach his century but managed only a four.
Other than O’Connor, M Stewart was 25 not out in a fine win.
Nigel Green was the main run scorer for Monkseaton with 35.
Other wicket takers for Blyth were J Stewart 2-40 and B Purvis 2-15.
Blyth 30 points, Monkseaton thirds 4 points.
