TOTTENHAM defender Pascal Chimbonda is reported to be in the north east this morning talking over a possible move to Sunderland.
The ex-Wigan Athletic full-back is said to be undergoing talks at the Stadium of Light.

Frenchman Chimbonda has been given the go-ahead by Tottenham to discuss a switch to The Black Cats, who have also expressed interest in Spurs team-mates Steed Malbranque, Teemu Tainio and Younes Kaboul.

But Kaboul's agent has catergorically ruled out a move to Sunderland, while Malbranque is believed to favour a move to Aston Villa.

Chimbonda, signed by former Tottenham boss Martin Jol for £6m from Wigan two years ago, does not figure in the long-term plans of Juande Ramos.
