GEORGE McCartney has signed a new five-year contract with West Ham.
Earlier this month, the Hammers turned down a £4.5m offer to sell the Northern Ireland defender back to Sunderland.

The 27-year-old full-back joined the Upton Park club from the Black Cats in 2006 in a four-year deal worth £1m.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane wanted McCartney to return to the Stadium of Light but the player made clear his desire to stay in east London.
