SUNDERLAND ended off their pre-season tour of Portugal with a 1-1 draw with Vitoria Setubal in a hard-fought game in Albufeira.
A deflected Kieran Richardson shot on the stroke of half-time saw the Black Cats earn a draw after they fell behind in the opening minutes.
Vitoria had taken the lead when Bruno Moraes was left completely unmarked in the box.
The Brazilian striker took advantage of some slack Sunderland defending at a Setubal corner after only two minutes.
The second half was a scrappy affair with few chances for either side.
Anthony Stokes rattled the Portuguese side's bar and Phil Bardsley went close.
