SUNDERLAND boss Roy Keane is reportedly keen on Tottenham's former Fulham midfielder Steed Malbranque.
Twenty-eight-year-old Malbranque has two years left on his current deal at White Hart Lane, but the Black Cats manager has made an enquiry as he continues to build a squad which will improve on last seasn's Premier League showing.

The Frenchman is one several players reportedly leaving Spurs this summer as manager Juande Ramos rebuilds his own squad.

The former Fulham man has been linked with Aston Villa and Manchester City and Spurs will consider offers of around £4m.

And Malbranque's agent Frederic Dobraje said: "Sunderland are the only team to have been in touch about Steed.

"No other club, including Aston Villa, has made contact."

The attacking midfielder joined Spurs two years ago.

He has played 62 Premier League games for Tottenham and scored six goals.

Keane is desperate to add more creativity to a side that managed just 36 goals on their return to the Premier League last season.
