Youngsters from south east Northumberland and the surrounding areas are ready for the return of Seaton Delaval Pantomime Society’s summer performance.
After the resurrection of Musical Mania last year by a young production team, the show returns this week bigger and better than before.
The team of five, including producers, a musical director and choreographer, with an average age of 22, have brought the cast back together this year to perform another musical spectacular packed full of song, comedy and dance with an extra two performances to cope with demand.
Cast members have been rehearsing up to three times a week since May, learning complex harmonies and dance routines.
The show features a wide mix of the most well loved musicals including numbers from Wicked, Jersey Boys, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Summer Holiday, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and the new musical Shrek.
Producer Mick Blewitt, 22, from Seaton Delaval, said: “We were very keen to build on the success of last year’s show, not only to put on spectacular performances, but to give the young people in our area something to work on and keep busy during the summer holidays.
“The amount of talent in our communities is outstanding and I take so much pride in our company mentoring and coaching the talent before giving people a platform to shine on stage, many for the first time.
“This year’s show continues to be another amazing musical production with spectacular vocals and stunning dance routines.”
Musical Mania will take place from today (Thursday, August 7), to Saturday, August 9, at the Seaton Delaval Arts Centre. Evening performances start at 7.15pm with a matinee on Saturday at 1.15pm.
