To celebrate the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels to the north east, an art exhibition of Northumbrian landscapes, The Pilgrim Coast, by Scottish painter Ramsay Gibb, will be on display in the county this summer.

His paintings record journeys in search of ancient pilgrim roads leading to sacred sites.

For The Pilgrim Coast, Ramsay has been walking two of the principal routes associated with St Cuthbert.

The exhibition will be on display consecutively at Woodhorn in Ashington and The Granary Gallery in Berwick, until September 8.
