BRADLEY Cooper is more than just a pretty face – he is a mighty fine actor.
Taking a step away from his comedy roles, Cooper has shown that he really can hold his own on screen throughout a whole film – and what a film Limitless is.
It’s rare that a film really lives up to the hype, but Limitless is without question, one of the best films I have ever seen.
We see Eddie (Cooper), a struggling writer who has yet to write even the first page of his book, who is dumped by his girlfriend, and all hope is lost.
But when Eddie bumps into his ex brother-in-law who offers him a new pill – NZA – which he promises will help, he has nothing to lose.
And this pill really does help – he can remember everything he has ever read, he is articulate, he writes his book in no time at all... whatever the pill is, he needs more.
The quest begins to get his hands on more of the wonder drug, and to escape those who are after the pill for themselves.
This is a thriller with a capital T, that is as original and clever as it is fast-paced.
It is exhilirating to watch –- but it does make you think, what would happen to me if I were to take that pill?
Also featuring Robert De Niro as a millionaire who takes Eddie under his wing, this is an absolute smash hit of a film.
Not once did I know what to expect or what would happen, I was kept guessing how it would end, and what would happen to Eddie, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film.
In a word, Limitless is brilliant.
The idea is great and believable, Cooper is an absolute star as Eddie, and this is a film I would happily watch again and again.
Anyone who has yet to see this, I would urge you to go and watch it. Grade A acting and a killer plot – you can’t ask for more than that.
