Classical act Blake take to stage in Blyth

A CLASSICAL Brit Award winning group are coming to Blyth next month.

Following their spring tour, Blake are embarking on a UK tour, calling in at the Phoenix Theatre on June 10.

Join these four young male singers for an evening of musical entertainment as Blake bridge the gap between classical and pop with a blend of voices and songs such as Nessun Dorma, Bring Him Home, Hallelujah and Jerusalem.

The An Evening With Blake tour has been an exciting new experience for the group as they have given local choirs the opportunity to perform with them on their nationwide tour.

The classical foursome came up with the idea of having a local choir joining them on stage after they toured schools across the country giving performances and talks about the music industry.

Jules Knight said: “The schools tour was part of the ‘campaign’ for our second Brit nomination, but it quickly became so much more than that to us. “The kids really engaged with what we did and we were blown away by the talent and confidence of some of them in the mock ‘X-Factor’ auditions that we held.

“With all that singing talent, we just couldn’t understand why choirs weren’t as popular as they used to be.”

An Evening With Blake will be at the Phoenix Theatre, Blyth, on June 10.
