New beauty salon opens in Bedlington

Okra Wellness Salon and Spa was opened by Ardia Wilkinson with Sara Lavender opening Okra Beauty Retreat in Bedlington last December.

But within weeks of opening, it closed due to the national lockdown, eventually reopening to customers in April.

And Sara, who has 15 years experience in the beauty industry, says customers have been flocking in for treatments.

Okra, the sister company to Bassu Wellness Salon & Spa which has been in Morpeth for four years, is the only Guinot skin salon providing 12 unique facial for all skin types and concerns.

Sara said: “It’s going really well. We have all the safety measures in place in line with Covid guidelines.

"People want to get back to normality as much as they can. Most people want to come in a feel relaxed and enjoy a bit of pampering.

"Skincare is really big at the moment as women aren’t wearing as much make-up.”
