Anthony Yilmaz, left, owner and founder of the hugely successful Turknaz restaurant in Whitley Bay, has been asked to judge the 2021 British Kebab Awards held in London.

“My staff and regular customers were so shocked when we were asked to be part of the judging panel” Anthony told us ecstatically. “The awards founder asked me a month ago after winning multiple awards previously. It makes me so proud to have reached such a high honour.”

Turknaz have won a variety of accolades for the past 4 years at the British Kebab Awards including Best Regional Kebab and Best Value Restaurant. Anthony puts the wins down to the dedication and hard work of the staff, and his obsession to keep improving the business, as well as the hugely important support of his customers.

This year Anthony will be visiting restaurants instead to judge them on their talents, taking inspiration from Simon Cowell. He says he’ll be straightforward with no messing about when it comes to finding a worthy winner.

With the reopening of the hospitality sector around the corner, Anthony will also be busy welcoming customers back to the restaurant, providing a safe dining experience with high quality food and entertainment, in a truly spectacular coastal location. Make sure to book in as soon as you can!
