School’s delight at donation of coach thanks to partnership
Joie Baby in partnership with Variety, the Children’s Charity, has presented The Dales School with a Variety Sunshine Coach.
The school with two sites – Blythdale in Blyth and Ashdale in Ashington – caters for 89 children aged two to 11 with complex needs such as Autistic Spectrum Condition, mental health difficulties and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.
The new coach is allowing it to maintain various activities and guarantee that it can provide the same opportunities to all of the children.
Kim Lamb, assistant head at The Dales School, said: “Having the Sunshine Coach at the school has made a great difference to our children.
“We have recently visited Seven Stories, where we participated in an Elmer workshop.
“We have been doing lots of work in school to celebrate the birthday of Elmer, so it was wonderful to be able to take the children out on the bus to bring it all to life.
“Each week, the bus is used to take children horse riding, giving the children the opportunity to try something new.
“Our plan for the future is to go out every week as part of our Outdoor Learning project. This will enable the children to participate in environmental education activities, outdoor pursuits and social development programs.
“A huge thanks to Joie Baby for its generous donation.”
