MP welcomes huge vaccine progress in Northumberland as jabs total tops 250,000

The news was welcomed by Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP for the Berwick-upon-Tweed constituency, where more than 75% of all adults have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest NHS figures show that 267,155 people in Northumberland have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Hide AdIn the Berwick constituency, 48,234 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. In addition, 17,818 people have now received both doses – 28% of adults.
Anne-Marie said: “This is great news and shows first doses continue to be administered at pace despite the focus being on ensuring the most vulnerable are receiving their second doses.
"My continued thanks go to our incredibly hard-working GPs and their teams and all the wonderful volunteers who are all working so hard to keep this mammoth rollout going.
“It is really important we keep this momentum going, and I would encourage all over 40s to book in for their vaccine. With case rates and deaths still falling, and the continuing success of our vaccine rollout programme, we remain on track to continue unlocking society and getting closer to normal life again.”

Hide AdAcross Northumberland, the most vaccines have been given in the Amble, Shilbottle and Swarland area with 12,058 doses in total, followed by Hexham and Acomb with 11,061 doses, the Widdrington, Lynemouth and Hadston area with 10,006 doses and the Seahouses, Belford and Wooler area with 8,887 doses delivered.
