An Ashington band are preparing for their biggest gig yet to coincide with the launch of their new EP.
Five-piece melodic metal band Ball Of Mayhem are set for a very busy few months.
The band, who are known for their big riffs, catchy choruses and vocal harmonies, will play their biggest gig to date when they headline the O2 Academy 2 in Newcastle on May 2.
The gig will serve as the launch for their new EP – Sonic Aftermath.
The EP was recorded at The Mill studios in Alnwick, and will be available to purchase on the night.
Alongside the launch of the new EP and the band’s o2 Academy date, they have just announced they will be writing and providing the official song for the short film, Fall of Grayskull, based on the popular 1980s franchise He-Man.
The film is being produced by American production company Red Serial Film, which raised $12,000 on it’s Kickstarter campaign.
David Chrisp, from the band, said: “We stand to gain some amazing coverage from this international collaboration.
“Ball of Mayhem’s title track to the film Fall of Grayskull will be released as a free download later in the year near the film’s release.”
For the 02 Academy gig, the band will be joined by local outfits The Filth Hounds, Logoz and Go Go Midgets.
David said: “It’s a fantastic night and opportunity for unsigned local bands from the north east.
“It’s set to be a very memorable night.
“We have a few surprises in store for what is set to be the most important night in the band’s history.”
Tickets are available now from any of the bands, online at www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/CEH02052 or from the O2 Academy Newcastle’s website at www.o2academynewcastle.co.uk
