Call to get involved in history fair at museum

WOODHORN Museum is on the look out for people who have a passion for local history to get involved in a fair.

Preparations are under way for the second Northumberland History Fair on Monday, October 24, and organisers are keen to hear from individuals and societies who would like to be part of the event by taking a stand and sharing their expertise.

Events and exhibitions officer Liz Ritson said: “We know from the number of people who use the archives at Woodhorn that there’s huge interest in the past.

“Thousands are looking into family history, not just who they were, but where their ancestors lived, how they earned their keep and what living conditions were like.

“We’d like the event to bring together as many people as possible to share their knowledge and expertise, resources and contacts.”
