Change in centre’s opening hours

Northumberland Archives’ study centre is changing it’s opening hours at Woodhorn Museum.

From September 1 it will open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

The revised opening hours will initially be introduced for a six-month trial period.

The decision to move to a four-day week opening has been reached as a result of analysing patterns of usage of the study centre facility and other public engagement activity.

Head of collections at the centre, Sue Wood, said: “We are reaching more people than ever before but in different ways.

“Closing on a Sunday will allow us to re-direct more of our resources into these areas of work.”
