Choir ready for new show after success of annual gig

Ashington and District Male Voice Choir wowed the audience at their annual concert.

The concert, at St John’s Church in Seaton Hirst, saw the choir sing music popularised over many years as well as four performances by Newbiggin soprano Susan Robertson.

Work is now under way on the concert on June 16, at Brinkburn Priory but many of the men are also involved with Susan preparing for a new production of Mike Kirkup and Derek Hobbs’ Fell-Em-Doon to be staged on July 6 and 7.

The choir is always on the look out for new members, and the ability to read music is not necessary.

Anyone who is interested in joining can come along to a reherasal at Ashington Community High School on a Thursday at 7pm or visit for details.
