Dire Straits guitarist in town for one-off gig

One of the founder member of rock super group Dire Straits is set to play Ashington this Friday.

David Knopfler, the band’s rhythm guitarist, pianist, singer, songwriter, and brother of lead singer and lead guitarist Mark Knopfler, will play at The Portland pub in Station Road in the town on Friday, April 19, at 8pm.

David will be accompanied on the night, by his lifelong friend and leading guitar virtuoso Harry Bogdanovs.

Harry has written and performed songs for the likes of Elton John and The Shadows.
