The event has become a key fund-raiser for the charity over the last 12 years, with some 3,000 visitors a year exploring some of the most beautiful private gardens in Northumberland, kindly opened by their owners and with the support of hospice volunteers.
Since 2008 the events have raised over £174,000 which has been generated from entrance fees, donations, cream teas and plant sales.

This year, due to coronavirus, it is organising virtual tours.

John said: “At this time the whole population is aware of the amazing dedicated work done by front line workers. The team at Hospice Care Northumberland have been quietly doing the same for years.
“They deal with personal and family tragedies on a daily basis. The confidence and support they give is immeasurable.
