Members of Morpeth Lions Club welcomed a long distance walker to their latest meeting.

Kettering Lions Club member Keith Ogley is currently walking from Land’s End to John O’Groats for charity.

He has endured blisters, deep bogs, wild cattle and torrential storms, but is resolutely picking off the miles towards his goal.

When he had reached Upper Coquetdale, Morpeth Lions decided he needed some company, a bed for the night and a good meal.

Morpeth’s Geoff Bushell met him at the end of the stage and transported him to the Sun Inn where he was fed and entertained by club members.

At the meal the Lions presented him with a cheque in support of his charities.

He was put up overnight and taken back to the start of his next stage on the following day.
