No mystery with Toyah’s stage show

Former punk princess Toyah Wilcox will be calling into Blyth this Saturday for a one night only performance.

In a career spanning 30 years, Toyah has had 13 top 40 singles, recorded 20 albums, written two books, appeared in more than 40 stage plays, made ten feature films, and presented countless television programmes.

It all began in Birmingham in 1977 when film director Derek Jarman offered her the role of ‘Mad’ in seminal punk epic Jubilee.

Toyah’s first album, The Blue Meaning, became a Top 40 hit, and she enjoyed success with a string of hit singles, including It’s a Mystery.

Toyah will perform her greatest hits as well as songs from the fan-loved album Crimson Queen, at the Phoenix Theatre on Saturday, May 10, at 8pm.

Tickets priced from £22 are available by calling (01670) 367228.
