Play about the value of the people takes to the stage

A HUMOUROUS take on current political, cultural and social issues will take to the stage in Ashington this week.

Swags & Tails was inspired by conversations and workshops with 155 older women and carers in the north east.

Set on the day Margaret Thatcher dies, against a backdrop of austerity and cuts, Swags and Tails is about how much people are worth and poses the question – does your value decrease with age?

The play promises to be a poignant and funny piece of social commentary which examines, with insight and honesty, the challenges that affect older people and carers as well as highlighting how important it is for society to consider their needs.

Swags and Tails will be at Ashington Institute on Institute Road, today at 2pm.

Tickets are priced at £2 and are available on the door.
