A teenager from Northumberland has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by organising a special concert.

Fourteen-year-old Meredith Cadman arranged the concert at Seaton Sluice Community Centre in aid of the children’s cancer ward at the RVI in Newcastle.

“Music is my passion and I felt I wanted to do something good with my performing skills and I thought of the children’s cancer ward,” she said.

“I presented the cheque for £400,that I raised on my own, to the RVI.

“My goal in life is to get somewhere with my music and to help others along the way.

“Thank you to all who came along and supported my concert, it was a brilliant night, and special thanks go to the Youth Music Festival for sponsoring my night and also Kyle Thompson for sound and lighting.”
