Cramlington Learning Village students are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today.
A total of 58 per cent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths – up five per cent on last year.
The Academy’s head teacher, Wendy Heslop, said: “I would like to thank all the students and staff who have worked phenomenally hard over the last year.
“The commitment that they have shown bodes well for their own future and sets a fantastic example to those that follow as we look ahead to the new school year.
“We are pleased we are moving in the right direction following disappointing results in 2014 and being placed in special measures by Ofsted.”
The school was particularly pleased with students who performed fantastically well by achieving a spread of A*, A and B grades at GCSE, with some outstanding individual performances including Taylor Dixon who gained nine A* grades and two A grades, Josephine Rahman who achieved nine A* grades and one A.
