Accused murderer appears in court

A WOMAN has appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of Holywell mum Tina Casey.

Heather Emmonds, of Blyth Street in Seaton Delaval was before magistrates at South East Northumberland Law Court on Friday February 8.

She spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth.

Emmonds, who had a black eye and a bruised cheek, is accused of killing Tina Casey on Sunday February 3 at Wallridge Drive in Holywell.

Officers discovered the body when they forced entry into the address at noon on Monday following a car crash in Shiremoor involving 57-year-old Emmonds.

The case was committed to Newcastle Crown Court and will be heard next on Tuesday February 12.

A 32-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of murder remains on police bail.
