Pets at Home in Cramlington is raising funds for the RSPCA this week.

Colleagues at the store will be holding a number of activities to collect donations for the national animal welfare charity, which collected and rescued over 115,000 animals in 2015 alone, until Sunday.

Customers in the area can also buy charity pin badges or choose to take part in the ‘round up to a £1’ initiative – where they opt to round up the cost of their shopping to the nearest pound, with the difference donated to the appeal.

There will also be more than 2,000 chances to win with the Instant Win Scratch Card that will be available in store throughout the fund-raising week and will be priced at only £1 each.

Some of the prizes include an iPhone 6, iPad Mini, pet-friendly holiday vouchers, cases of wine and RSPCA pin badges.

Debbie Joicey, store manager at Pets at Home in Cramlington, said: “We held a similar fund-raising week last year and managed to raise more than £63,000 across our stores in England and Wales.

“However, we’re hoping to beat that target this year to help support the great work done by the RSPCA.

“Our customers are always so generous. They’re animal lovers, just like us, and share our passion for pets – so I know they will donate what they can.”

The appeal is being supported by Support Adoption For Pets, the charity established and supported by Pets at Home, which has raised more than £3.1 million in the last year alone thanks to the various fund-raising efforts of store colleagues and customers.
