Advice for employees
More than 1,000 people in Northumberland have been given advice on sustainable travel in a bid to reduce traffic congestion and help the environment.
A range of employees, including from Wansbeck General Hospital, the Manor Walks shopping centre in Cramlington and the county council, are working with Go Smarter to Work, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland’s sustainable travel programme.
They are being encouraged to adopt greener and healthier modes of travel such as walking, cycling, car sharing and using public transport.
Andy Chymera from Go Smarter said: “We’ve helped hundreds of people make small changes to become more active and have a positive impact on the environment.”
