A young woman from Ashington is hoping an aerobathon will help raise vital funds for a charity close to her heart.
Kate Beattie is organising the three-hour aerobathon at Ashington Leisure Centre on Sunday, October 6, in aid of North of England Children’s Cancer Research.
Starting at 11am, it will include zumba, a tug-of-war, games and much more.
Kate, 28, is holding the event to mark ten years since her cousin Stephanie Vescio died from cancer, aged just 17.
Kate said: “Along with family members and the fantastic support of Lyndsey Humbl and all the staff at the leisure centre, we want to make this an event to remember.
“We just wanted to make sure we did something to raise money and awareness but keep it quite physical and so family and friends can join in or come along and support us.”
Anyone who would like to help Kate by making a donation can email firstname.lastname@example.org
Kate will also be raising funds for the charity by taking part in the Great North Run this Sunday.
