African tale told to guild

Cramlington Townswomen’s Guild is looking to the future after ending 2015 on a high note.

After a party full of entertainment as well as a faith supper, attention turned to the year ahead.

With the guild keen to get going, January began with speaker David Routledge’s humorous yet terrifying talk about cycling across Africa.

Princes William and Harry joined Mr Routledge on the trip, requiring participants to raise £5,000 for an off-road motorcycle to be purchased and donated to African nurses to help them visit remote areas.

Cramlington Townswomen’s Guild meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in Cramlington Community Centre.
