Ambulance and coastguard called to Blyth beach

The emergency services were called to Blyth beach in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Blyth Coastguard were paged at 2.15am by Humber Coastguard.

They were tasked to assist North East Ambulance service with the extraction of a male casualty who was drunk and having breathing difficulties on Blyth beach.

Crew members departed but were stood down whilst on route as the casualty was safely in the care of the ambulance service.
