A woman who has pounded the streets around the world to raise money for charity is preparing to don her running shoes for her latest cause.
Angela Dight, from St Ives in Cambridgeshire, has ran marathons across the world, including in Paris last year – and is now preparing to take on the Great North Run on Sunday for Newbiggin lifeboat station.
Angela said: “My interest in the RNLI goes back years and my friendship with Newbiggin’s lifeboat operation’s manager Pauline created a focus to do something to help them.
“The RNLI volunteers regularly train throughout the year, whereas my training is over the pleasant summer months for a one off event.”
