A car has been damaged by a vandal in an overnight incident.

The car was parked in Gloucester Street, in New Hartley, when the incident happened between 10am on Wednesday, August 10, and 6.30am the following day.

The bonnet, rear panel and roof were damaged with what appears to have been a key or similar object. The offender made off.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 72862R/16.

Officers are also appealing for information on a seperate criminal damage incident.

A large quantity of engine oil was poured onto land next to the householder’s lawn causing substantial damage to the lawn. It happened between 2.30pm and 4pm on Friday, August 12, in Scott Avenue, Nelson Village in Cramlington.

Police are asking for any witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 072860V/16.
