An apprentice from south east Northumberland has scooped a national award.
Homes for Northumberland (HfN) apprentice Brodie McHugh, was highly commended at this year’s Direct Works Forum Repairs and Maintenance awards, in the non-construction trade apprentice category.
Brodie, from Blyth, said: “It was a huge honour to be nominated for a national award, and to receive highly commended is an incredible accolade.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working for HfN and as an organisation they have been so supportive in helping me to learn all aspects of the business.
“I have been able to develop my skills in an environment where people want you to succeed.”
Paul Harrison, director of corporate services at HfN, said: “This award is well deserved. Brodie is a real asset to the team.”
