A care home is opening its doors for members of the community to have a look around.

HC One’s Ashington Grange is taking part in the sixth annual Care Home Open Day tomorrow.

People are invited to attend the home in Moorhouse Lane, Ashington, between 10am and 6pm where there will be live entertainment, a buffet tea party and the chance to meet staff and residents.

Care Home Open Day is a national event that gives local people the opportunity to learn more about the services at the heart of their community.

This year’s theme is Linking Our Community, and HC-One has decided to launch a ‘Big Sing’, inviting local choirs into homes to sing with residents, their loved ones, colleagues and neighbours.

Ashington Grange’s Home Manager Barbara Davies said: “At HC-One, we open our doors to friends, family, neighbours and local people regularly to offer kindness and support, and most importantly, to enrich the lives of our residents.

“We cannot wait to welcome everyone into the home to take part in what will be a fantastic day.”

Ashington Grange boasts an impressive 9.7/10 on the sector’s leading care home comparison website
