Ashington’s Woodhorn Museum is holding an open day on Sunday in a bid to boost its takings from hosting weddings.

Would-be brides and grooms are invited to go along between 11am and 3pm to meet the Queen Elizabeth II Country Park venue’s wedding team and find out all about the range of options on offer to make their big days occasions to remember.

“The museum, with its wonderful historic buildings and countryside setting, provides a very different venue for a wedding,” said venue hire manager Nicola Davis.

“We have three really flexible and individual spaces for ceremonies and receptions, and at the open day we’ll be able to explain and demonstrate some of the options to potential couples.”

“We can cater for everything from a small, intimate vintage tea party to a full-site-down wedding breakfast for close to 100 guests.”

“We are delighted that the Northumberland registration service will also be at the event, so people can discuss the more formal side of a marriage too.”
