A county village’s community centre has been awarded a grant to buy equipment and train volunteers to expand its cinema programme.
Seaton Sluice Cinema Club has been awarded £3,400 from Arts Development Northumberland and Readman Family Fund, which will help the group buy a projector, large screen and Blu-ray player.
The film club was set up with help from Doorstep pictures run by Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure, which has hired equipment and technical expertise to the community centre over the last five years.
The club shows films every second Thursday of the month for six months of the year, but it is hoped that this will be doubled.
